Lithographs of WWI by an important woman war artist... at the front with the VAD nurses by Olive Mudie-Cooke...

There were very few women war artists recording WWI... even fewer were serving as volunteer ambulance drivers... almost all have never been given the recognition they deserve...
In 1916 Olive Mudie-Cooke volunteered as an ambulance driver for the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry & Voluntary Aid Detachment units. During this service she began recording the scenes she experienced. She served in France & Italy & in 1919 the recently established Imperial War Museum aquired her work.  The prints in the auction include those from the portfolio 'With the V.A.D. Convoys in France, Flanders, Italy. Lithographs by Olive Mudie-Cooke' & others.
